Our Story

“It’s a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself.

Makes you wonder what else you can do that you’ve forgotten about.”

I’ve been tinkering with things since I was a little kid. Electronics, machines, mechanical objects, computers, design, you name it. Over the years I’ve constantly been learning and developing those skills. Some things never change. Looking back it seems inevitable that I’d be doing something like this and the future looks very bright.

Before I decided to start my own business I was a Manufacturing Engineer for one of the major aerospace companies in southern California . I am also an FAA certificated Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. I’ve worked in aerospace for over 13 years and have held positions in production, leadership, planning, and engineering. I’ve had the chance to learn a lot of advanced procedures and techniques during my time in the business.

I love knives and have been carrying and collecting them for as long as I have been able to. Some high end and some more affordable. I very seldom come across a knife that doesn’t need some improvement or refinement. Whether that’s the sharpness, the action, or almost anything, I have always enjoyed improving them.

I got into CNC machining in 2014 with the intention of modifying some of my daily carry knives. After doing several successful mods I realized I could certainly make my own entire knife. I’ve had the idea for a knife with a carbon fiber blade body for a long time. Nothing like what I was looking for existed so I started making the first Interface prototypes knives in early 2019.

One of the best things about knives is that you get to carry around a piece artwork everywhere you go.
